Johann L. Van Kolken

Mr. Van Kolken received his BS from California State University San Bernardino in 1993 and his JD from the University of La Verne College of Law in 1999. He practices Workers' Compensation Defense with the firm.

Mr. Van Kolken initiated his career in Workers' Compensation law prior to law school in 1991, on the Applicants' side as a Hearing Representative. He thereafter switched to the Defense after law school. Mr. Van Kolken is a California native, married with a child and dog; likes golf, running, biking, beach/mountain activities, and cooking.

Bao M. Vu

Mr. Vu received his BA with Honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2008 and JD from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 2011.

While at UC Davis, Mr. Vu served as Managing Editor of the Law Review, received an Academic Excellence Scholarship and earned a Witkin Award.  Prior to joining Laughlin, Falbo, Levy & Moresi, Mr. Vu worked in the legal department at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. There, he advised on employment matters and public agency law. Mr. Vu has also served as an extern to Chief Judge James Ware, United States District Court, Northern District of California.

Mr. Vu is admitted to practice law in California, and he practices Workers’ Compensation Defense with the firm.

Erin L. Walker

Ms. Walker received her BA from Stanford University in 2002 and her JD from Golden Gate University School of Law in 2008. She practices Workers’ Compensation Defense with the firm.

Lisa G. Wilson

Ms. Wilson is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania (inactive) and California. Lisa received her law degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1993. Her practice areas include federal administrative law, Longshore and Harbor Workers Act, and Defense Base Act.

John C. Won

Mr. Won received his BA from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2001 and his JD from the Univeristy of California, Hastins College fo the Law in 2005. Before coming to Laughlin, Falbo, Levy & Moresi, Mr. Won practiced insurance defense and defense of public entities for six years. His civil litigation background includes a number of civil jury trials with successful resolution.  He practices Workers' Compensation Defense with the firm.

Mr. Wong received his BA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1999 and his JD form the Univeristy of San Francisco School of Law in 2003.  He practices Workers' Compensation Defense with the firm.

Carolyn M. Wood

Ms. Wood received her BA from the University of California Berkeley in 1974 and her JD from U.C. Hastings College of Law in 1981. She practices Workers’ Compensation Defense with the firm.

Ms. Wood has 10 years experience as a trial lawyer in Superior Courts throughout the Bay Area, 18 years experience as a workers’ compensation defense attorney and  5 years experience in Family Law Mediation. Ms. Wood spent a year in Australia recently on sabbatical.  Personal interests include painting and running.
