Russell Fung is an Associate Attorney in our Oakland office. He joined LFLM in 2018 and defends insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers in all areas of state workers’ compensation law.
Mr. Fung began practicing workers’ compensation law after specializing in civil litigation and insurance defense. In law school and prior to admission to the California State Bar, Mr. Fung was a law clerk for the City of San Francisco Torts Department, various insurance defense firms, and Southern Pacific. He was also a legal extern for U.S. District Court Northern California Magistrate Joan Brennan. In workers’ compensation law, Mr. Fung has successfully handled cases for insurance carriers, self-insured employers and entities such as CIGA involving discovery, negotiations and settlements, trials, and appellate work.
Mr. Fung obtained his B.A. degree in Journalism from San Jose State University where he was selected as a summer intern and reporter for the San Jose Mercury News. He graduated with distinction and was a member of the Black Masque honor society. He also spent his Junior year attending political science and international relations classes at the University of Stockholm, Sweden as part of the I.E.S. program. After working as a legal secretary and law clerk, Mr. Fung obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University School of Law.
In his spare time, Mr. Fung enjoys writing, singing, hiking, running, and following the San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, and New England Patriots.
