Hernan O. Cetina is an Associate Attorney in our San Diego office. He joined LFLM in 2024, and represents insurance carriers, third-party administrators and self-insured employers in all areas of state workers’ compensation law.
Mr. Cetina began his workers’ compensation practice in 1982 in Los Angeles, representing applicants. He later moved to San Diego, where he continued handling applicant cases for two more years before transitioning to the defense side in 1986. With over 42 years of worker compensation experience, he has managed all aspects of these cases, including LC 132a and serious and willful misconduct claims. He also has extensive experience in pursuing subrogation and intervention claims related to workers’ compensation, as well as defending cases under the Longshore Act and the Jones Act.
Mr. Cetina has presented on a variety of workers’ compensation topics, including:
• Rolda issues
• The use of AMEs and QMEs and pitfalls to avoid
• Requesting QME panels and making appropriate selections
• Temporary and permanent disability payments and related issues
