Of Counsel
  • Overview

Barry Lesch has been with LFLM since its inception, and is currently Of Counsel in the Oakland Office. His practice includes representing insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers in all areas of state workers’ compensation law, with some emphasis on public agency litigation.

Mr. Lesch graduated from Boalt Hall Law School in 1975 and first found work in the mid-70’s recession as an applicant’s attorney in Oakland. Later, he relocated his skills to a San Francisco house counsel operation which led him to LFLM (and its small predecessor firm, Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold) in 1981. Currently, he is a senior attorney at LFLM’s Oakland office, having worked for the firm for more than a third of a century. Sixteen years of that time was spent serving as the Managing Partner of its Sacramento offices. Mr. Lesch is also one of the Managing Editors of the California Workers’ Compensation Reporter (CWCR). He is a frequent presenter and lecturer on the topic of compensation law issues, particularly evolving (or regressing) case law.
