Mr. Monaghan received his BA degree form California State University at Los Angeles in 1988 and his JD from San Francisco Law School in 1996.  He earned the Am Jur Bancroft-Whitney Award in Evidence.

He has also practiced civil defense for automobile manufacturing and distributors, including two years practice in Stuttgart, Germany.  He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society San Francisco Chapter. 

His interests include world travel, sailing, triathlons, baseball, golf, and history.

Mr. Monaghan practices Workers' Compenation, Defense Base Act, and Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act Defense with the firm.
