Mr. Laughlin began his legal career in 1965 with the firm of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran and Arnold and left that firm in 1985 with 13 attorneys and formed Laughlin, Falbo, Levy & Moresi LLP which eventually grew to 150+ attorneys by 2000. Mr. Laughlin still handles files in the San Francisco office.
