  • Overview

    Carroll A. Wheatley is currently a senior Partner in our San Bernardino office. Mr. Wheatley has been a member and partner at LFLM since 1998 and served as the managing partner of their Pasadena office for 15 years and served on the Office Management Committee during this term. He currently serves on the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and represents a multitude of clients in various lines of businesses, including but not limited to self-insured entities, school districts, and public agencies, to name a few.

    Originally from Springfield, Illinois, Mr. Wheatley attended Elmhurst University on a collegiate scholarship for basketball.  He served as the head of Black Student Affairs and received the distinguished Lincoln Academy Award given to one student at Illinois University who displayed outstanding leadership and academic achievement.

    Continuing to law school, Mr. Wheatley attended Southwestern Law School and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1984. Mr. Wheatley has argued on multiple occasions before the California Court of Appeals.  He is well known (as a young) attorney for his successful argument that changed forever how settlements were handled in a case known as “Rodgers v. WCAB” aka the “Rodgers waiver.”

    Historically, and now more than ever, Mr. Wheatley is strongly committed to uplifting and providing paths for other minorities to excel and achieve in all aspect of workers’ compensation and life in general, making him a great asset to the African American Workers’ Compensation Professionals board.

    Mr. Wheatley is married and has two children. He was born in Springfield, Illinois.

    Mr. Wheatley presently serves on several local committees and boards including the Los Angeles Fairplex Watertec Committee, devoted to helping youth through education and employment in the field of water. He also serves on the La Verne Cultural Awareness Committee to provide a forum for citizens to have a place to voice complaints of discrimination and unfair treatment in the city of La Verne.
